The new Team India Jersey, manufactured by German sports brand Adidas became available in the Adidas store and on the Adidas web site on Friday, June 4. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced its collaboration with the sporting brand earlier this month. The announcement created a buzz on social media and fans eagerly awaited the players to wear the new jersey.
Adidas will manufacture and design the jerseys for India’s U-19 men’s, women’s, and women teams. The jerseys were made using recycled polyester and the HEAR.RDY Technology. Adidas will be putting its trademark blue stripes on the jerseys.
The new Adidas shirt will be worn by Team India when they face Australia in the World Test Championship Final scheduled to begin on the 7th of June at The Oval in London.
In July, the Men In Blue will play the T20I Series against West Indies and it is then that the T20I shirt should be worn for the first time by players in international matches. The Adidas stripes will be orange and white and appear on both the ODI and T20I jerseys. A jersey costs Rs 4999, while replica jerseys will cost Rs 2999. A fan jersey costs Rs 999.
