On Friday, June 30, 2023 at Mille Lacs Lake a plane crash was tragic. One person perished; authorities conducted a comprehensive investigation. His body was recovered only Friday afternoon from where it crashed; according to Ryan Comer’s family spokesperson of Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson was responsible.
Remembering Ryan Comer
According to reports by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), 47-year old Ryan Comer of Blaine, Wisconsin was travelling on his flight when an Icon A5 crashed at 1:50 pm on March 13 and killed him. Authorities continue their investigation of what may have led up to Ryan’s demise in order to learn more.
At 10:30 pm on October 22, the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office initiated an immediate and difficult recovery mission in an attempt to recover Ryan Comer from Mille Lacs Lake. They tracked his submerged body for several hours until finally finding its exact position at around 10:30 pm – from which point all belongings could be recovered!
According to preliminary reports, two planes left Anoka County Municipal Airport at around 1:00 pm with plans of landing at Mille Lacs Lake before continuing on their journeys. One plane crashed into another plane resulting in fatality while its companion plane safely landed and is currently safe from further incidents. Authorities have since begun reviewing security footage from both incidents as they seek further answers and seek justice through federal aviation administration investigations into both incidents.
Authorities will continue their inquiries into what led to Ryan Comer’s tragic passing at Mille Lacs Lake and will offer some comfort to those affected by this calamity.
